Using the Palette Menu.

The Palette Menu contains commands which perform actions unique to each palette, as well as listing all palettes which are saved in the same folder as the VersaTile application and any other open palettes.

The following commands can be found in the Palettes menu:

Sort Palette Items.
Use this command to alphabetically sort all the tiles on the palette.  This option will rearrange the tiles and close up any gaps in the palette.

Palette Configuration.
This command displays a sub menu of commands for changing the appearance of the front-most palette.

Draw Title Bar.  You can elect for VersaTile not to display a title bar along the top of the palette windows  by turning off this option.  The default is on.

Draw Name Area.  You can elect for VersaTile not to display a name area along the bottom of the palette by turning off this option.  The default is on.

Draw Horizontal.
Use this command to switch between horizontal and vertical palette orientations.  Depending on the size, location, and configuration of your palette one orientation may be better than another to allow you to drag and resize the palette window.

Tile Sets.
Tile Sets are a new addition to VersaTile.  You can now create a Tile Set, which is a combination of a tile texture, tile format, font, and window title bar color.  Selecting the tile set from the menu will then change the appearance of the front-most palette.  A default "Standard Gray Tiles" set is already defined for you.  Use the "Add Tile Set" command to define your own sets.

Add Tile Set.
Use this command to access the Tile Set area.  This area contains controls for creating, importing, exporting, and deleting tile textures and tile formats.

Remove Tile Set.
Use this command to remove a previously defined tile set.

Palettes.
The remaining portion of this menu is devoted to displaying your palettes.  Any palettes which are saved in the same folder as the VersaTile application will be automatically added to this menu.  Also any open palettes, and the Active Application palette will also appear in this menu.  Use the menu to open or switch between palettes.

Symbology:

A filled diamond '‚å•' symbol indicates that the palette is currently open.

An empty diamond '◊' symbol indicates that the palette is saved in the VersaTile application folder, but is not currently open.

A checkmark '‚àö' symbol indicates that the palette is the active (frontmost) palette.

A plus '+' symbol indicates that the palette will open automatically when the application starts.  To designate a palette to auto-open, simply include a '+' at the beginning of the palette name.  To use this feature, ensure that the palette is saved in the same folder as the VersaTile application.

A bullet •' symbol indicates that the palette will open automatically in response to another application starting.  Name the palette so that it matches the name of the application exactly, then place a '•' at the start of the name, for example: •ClarisWorks 1.0.2.  To use this feature, ensure that the palette is named correctly, it is saved in the same folder as the VersaTile application, and the Active Application palette is open.  Now whenever ClarisWorks 1.0.2 is opened either from VersaTile or the Finder, the •ClarisWorks 1.0.2 palette will also open.
